EditArt's sliders as a mini musical score

What do the sliders manipulate in the work Parachute Waltz / Vals del paracaídas??

Parachute Waltz is part of the works on the EditArt platform, which is characterized by using sliders to co-create generative works.

The piece transforms the five sliders of the EditArt platform into a musical staff. Literally, the bottom line corresponds to the note E, the next line to G, and so on. Automata algorithms begin by reading the notes on the lines, as if they were a minimal, repetitive score. Synthesized sounds, processed together with granulated shaders, gradually paint an endless audiovisual texture.

The initial positions of all the sliders, in addition to defining notes and timing, characterize and give essence to the artwork.

Concepto

En la interpretación de organismos biológicos que rompen paradigmas haciendo algo distinto, para adaptarse a cambios y poder sobrevivir, surgen caminos para ser imitados por tantos, y lograr en definitiva que fluya la vida. El devenir de la obra es una metáfora de esos caminos llenos de ingenio y riesgo, donde coloridos organismos en hileras van abriendo senderos, deslizándose como sutiles gotas, realizando giros sofisticados, o saltos elásticos.

Algunos caminos alternativos suelen esconder algún mensaje en su recorrido. Literalmente, uno podría encontrar y leer frases en relación a la biodiversidad y su importancia (*). Aunque es más común pasarlas por alto, hasta a veces no respetarlas, o lo que es peor, olvidarlas. Así y todo, en una insistencia exacerbada, aquí, los organismos audiovisuales pareciera que van a repetirse, “hasta que la biodiversidad llueva”, explote la variedad y los ecosistemas al fin vayan solos.
